do. Good Stitches {a Charity Bee}
Experienced and first-time quilters welcomed! Let’s use our love for color, pattern and stitching to make quilts for children living in poverty. This sewing bee is designed to minimize shipping and fabric costs by working from our own fabric stashes. There are two levels of involvement: Stitch & Quilt.
Stitch: Every month members of do. Good Stitches will complete 2 blocks for the charity bee. At the beginning of each month Stitchers will receive instructions from the Quilter as to color scheme and block design, with a link to an online tutorial when necessary. Blocks will typically measure 12.5 x 12.5″. Please plan to photograph and upload your completed blocks to our Flickr group. Your work will encourage and inspire other members of do.Good Stitches. Completed blocks must be mailed to the Quilter by the end of each month.
Quilt: The Quilter’s job is to plan, assemble and complete each month’s charity quilt. You’ll need to communicate your design to the Stitchers, keeping in mind that they’ll be pulling fabrics from their fabric stash. If you prefer to purchase and mail fabric at your expense, that is wonderful but not expected! I’d be happy to suggest designs that lend themselves to this kind of collaborative project. The Quilter can also make blocks as desired or required by her pattern. Once all blocks are received, the Quilter should complete the quilt top, quilt and bind the charity quilt within 30 days. Next photograph the finished quilt and post it to our Flickr group. We’ll all be so excited to see it finished! The completed quilt will be mailed directly from the Quilter to Wrap Them in Love. From which it will make it’s way to a child in need of warmth and love!

I’m so glad I found your blog! I started sewing and quilting also only last year and I’m totally hooked. Love your Colorbrick Quilt! Would love to join your bee, but I’m not sure if it would work with the shipping since I live on the other side of the world in the Netherlands . But I will be reading your blog for sure!
